Made with Traditional Materials and Lots of Love In London.
Little Black Rabbit began on a drizzly London night when a painter stumbled upon an abandoned baby bunny on the doorstep of her central London flat. Before very long the little bunny had won her heart (as well as those of the rest of the household and some of the neighbours), inspiring a sketchbook of illustrations which grew into Little Black Rabbit London.
Every fine art print starts as an original hand painted artwork by Edie Kane, the same painter who gave the rabbit free rein over her one-bedroom flat. No digital touch-ups or compositing, no AI; just pencil, paint and paper, along with lots of love and care. Each piece is expertly scanned and Giclee printed in the UK.
We're drawn to the joyful and the absurd: a cheeky tabby with speeding points on his license, a capybara who can’t be bothered, a sheep in a snazzy quilted gilet.
We hope our animals help you to reconnect with an analogue side of life, to slow down and have a giggle, and to share the joy with someone you love and maybe even recognise in one of our designs.
